Sustainable Jersey for Schools Certification Program

Climate Change block

The New Jersey Student Climate Challenge is open to New Jersey public school students in grades 6 to 12. It is an innovative approach for teachers to inspire learning about climate change through interactive, place-based projects that align with the New Jersey Climate Change Education Student Learning Standards. Students collaborate in small groups to address a cause or impact of climate change within their school or community, showcasing their accomplishments through a digital story.

To further support educators in preparing their students for the Challenge, the New Jersey Climate Education Hub offers resources and lessons to introduce or support climate change education in the classroom. These resources will empower teachers to cultivate a deeper understanding of climate change among their students and effectively guide them in exploring their projects with enhanced comprehension and purpose.
